Abby is now 6 months old so I thought I would put together a list of my favorite must-have baby products to help many of you new moms out. She is our 4th and last child and she has also been our most difficult so far. We just started doing some sleep training this past week and because of that she is getting easier! I think a big mistake new moms make is that they buy everything they will possibly need and want, ignoring that many of these things will never be used. I would recommend going to register with a friend that already has a baby, that way you know what you are really going to use and not use.
Here is a rundown of the products that have made being a mommy so much easier!
1.) Baby Wise book. This book is great for teaching you how to get your kids on a schedule, I don’t agree with everything in this book (like making a 2 month old cry themselves to sleep) but it helped give me confidence as a new mom by teaching me how to schedule my baby right from birth.
2.) MAM Pacifiers. These are the BEST pacifiers ever, they are the only ones that Abby would use. The past few weeks she has been having a hard time falling asleep and I realized it was because her pacifier was too small for her. We just got her all new 6+ month ones and she is sleeping much better, I think it is because the larger ones suction to her face better 🙂 Sign up on mambaby.com for the “MAM Club” to be the first to know on product updates, special promotions and more.
3.) Fisher Price Rock n’ Play. This can be found on Amazon for around $50.00. Abby slept in this for the first few months of her life, it was great because it was portable. We took it with us when we traveled, took it upstairs and downstairs and she was always in her bed! The incline of this is perfect for colicky and gassy babies.
4.) Carseat canopy. This is perfect for a young baby to protect it from wind, sun, rain, and snow! I like it because I can easily flip it open in the car so she could see around. Often, they have coupon codes and deals available if you sign up for their mailing list.
5.) Ergo baby carrier. These are not cheap, but they are SO well worth the price! I think Abby slept in this for a month straight, it was the only way I could keep her from crying when she was colicky. I would walk around the house with her in the Ergo for hours!
6.) Sophie the Giraffe. The best teething toy EVER, plus it is the perfect size for little hands to be able to hang onto! The only problem is the older kids like to play with it too and it usually gets stolen by one of them.
7.) Fisher Price space saving high chair. We have a small eat-in kitchen where we usually eat together as a family, so we don’t have a lot of room for a big highchair. This Fisher Price space saving high chair is a great investment because it is half the price and you clip it to a regular kitchen chair. It makes it very easy for us to fit this in our kitchen.
