  • You know I am a huge fan of shopping at ALDI, so I was really excited when my favorite budget-friendly grocery store, sent me an ALDI Delivered box.

So I was really excited when my favorite budget-friendly grocery store, ALDI, sent me an ALDI Delivered box.

(PS – If you LOVE ALDI, check out my ALDI meal plans!)

The box was delivered to my door and had a whole bunch of non-perishable ingredients in it, along with recipe cards, a shopping list for the fresh foods (meats, fruits, vegetables), ALDI gift certificates that will pay for the food at the store and even a quarter for your cart!

The box was packed so well. It wasn’t just a whole bunch of ingredients tossed in a box. Instead, I was greeted with a message on top, my quarter, and a couple bags to go shopping with.

I liked being able to go in store and pick out my own produce… If you haven’t tried ALDI’s meats and produce before, or you’ve been afraid to, I suggest you give them a try.

Their fresh meats are the same or better quality as my other grocery store in town, and their produce is actually better. Sure, they don’t have quite the selection, but I can get 98%+ of what I need at ALDI.

Here’s a picture of all of the products that came in the box:

So not only did I get a bunch of ingredients that I would use in the recipes, I also got coffee and some awesome snacks! Since I eat gluten-free, it was a nice surprise to get a bag of their liveGfree® Gluten-Free Multiseed Snack Crackers – they’re a regular on my shopping list anyway. It’s like they read my mind 🙂

There are a few details about the box that I really appreciate. First, the shopping list is very organized and detailed. It provided me a list of the stuff I received in the box, and separated it by items that would be used in recipes and items that I could start snacking on. And for the spices, it told me exactly how much of each I would be using.

The ALDI shopping list is also really organized. It is set up by category so that going through the store will be a breeze. In addition, since ALDI doesn’t carry everything, there is a separate section showing you which products you might need to pick up at a different store.

    It’s definitely very well thought-out.

The next thing I want to show you is the recipes they sent. They’re like REALLY awesome – from their own Test Kitchen. I tried them all, but I want to show you my favorite one. The Garden Bean Salad is good… like, ridiculously good.

It’s a mix of kidney beans, garbanzo beans, and black beans and other vegetables mixed with lime juice and this AMAZING SimplyNature® Organic Asian Ginger Dressing. I’ll definitely be using this dressing in many other salads as well :).

Instructions? Well, basically just toss all the ingredients together in a big bowl. And this is one of those salads that might actually be better the second day. Hold the avocado and put it in the fridge.

    Here’s the recipe:
