This easy Bolognese Sauce is the perfect example of Italian comfort food. Wow… you NEED to try this recipe. Just serve it over spaghetti or your favorite pasta, maybe with a nice crusty Italian bread and your taste-buds will be thanking you.

The thing that makes Bolognese so much more than a meat sauce is that much of the flavor comes from the holy food trinity of chopped celery, onions and carrots (called mirepoix, in case you’re interested).

Sauteing these aromatic vegetables in the meat along with some garlic infuses some awesome flavors.

Don’t be daunted by the amount of ingredients; I can almost guarantee that you have most of these in your pantry or spice cabinet. Honestly, the only “hard” part about making this sauce is chopping the vegetables.

And adding milk? Yeah… don’t be afraid. But just make sure to use whole milk – you want that richness.
