  • I had to start eating gluten free after my 3rd daughter was born. I was devastated when it came to apple season because I wasn’t sure how to make my favorite apple crisp dessert. I started trying out different recipes and came up with this gluten free apple crisp recipe. It is amazing! You are going to love it!

Today I am going to teach you how to make a Gluten Free Apple Crisp.  Don’t be fooled by the ‘Gluten Free’ part, this is just as delicious as my original non-gluten free recipe.

    Ingredients

    • 4-5 large apples cut in thin slices
    • 1/4 cup Orange Juice the secret ingredient : )
    • 1 cup sugar you can alter this depending on how sweet you want it.
    • 1/2 cup Bob's Red Mill Gluten Free Oats
    • 3/4 cup Pamela's Baking/Pancake mix or other Gluten-free flour of your choice
    • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
    • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
    • dash salt
    • 1/2 cup butter 1 stick
    • *If you would like to make this the original way just substitute flour for the Pamela's Baking Mix and regular quick oats for the Gluten Free Oats.

    Instructions

    • ) Preheat over to 375 degrees.
    • ) Start with 4-5 large apples cut up and placed in a buttered pie dish.
    • ) Sprinkle apples with Orange Juice.
    • ) Combine dry ingredients and cut in 1/2 cup of butter until the dry mixture looks like above. It should look like crumbles the size of peas (for lack of a better word.)
    • ) Place dry ingredients on top of apples in pie dish.
    • ) Bake for 40 minutes until light golden brown on top.
    • ) Serve with your favorite Gluten Free Ice Cream!

  • It tastes very good but I would recommend peeling the apples, which isn’t stated in the instructions. My first impression was that it didn’t seem to cook on the top, but after we broiled it, it became brown. Overall I would make the apple crisp again.

  • I made it last night for my husband, who has celiac. He is partial to pie vs crisps, but said that it was “pretty tasty”. I thought it was delicious!!! I will definitely make this again, for me!

  • So delicious! We peeled the apples and used much less sugar than called for. It was a fun family project. Thanks for the recipe!

  • Delicious! The best recipe I’ve tried. We substituted quinoa flour instead of the pancake mix but excellent! Tastes like the apple crisp I used to eat before I went gluten free! Thank you so much!

My wife is raving about it and simplicity of preparation with Pamela’s
We love Pamela’s PC mix. By far the best we have found.
      Thank You for sharing.
