Heart-Shaped, Bread Machine Cinnamon Buns!

  • This weeks Cooking with the FREE & Cheap Recipes is Heart Shaped Cinnabon Buns – Made in a Bread Machine!

    If you are looking for a good deal on a bread machine – I would recommend the West Bend 41300 Hi-Rise Electronic Dual-Blade Breadmaker. This is the one that I use and LOVE it!

    Here is the recipe for you:

    Heart Shaped Cinnamon Rolls using a Bread Machine

    Ingredients:

    Dough:

    • ¾ cup warm milk + 1 Tbsp
    • 1 egg – cost about $0.20
    • 3 cups of flour – cost about $0.35
    • 3 tablespoons sugar
    • ½ tsp salt
    • 4 tablespoons softened butter – cost about $0.25
    • 1 packet of active dry yeast or 2 tsp.– cost about $0.30

    Filling:

    • 1/3 cup butter, softened – cost about $0.35
    • 1/3 cup sugar
    • 2 tsp cinnamon
    • ½ tsp nutmeg (optional)

    Topping:

    • ½ cup powdered sugar
    • 1 ½ tablespoon milk
    • ½ tsp vanilla
    • Sprinkles (optional)

    Directions:

    1. Add warm milk and egg to bread machine pan.
    2. Add flour, sugar, and salt to pan.
    3. Tap pan to settle ingredients.  Place a tablespoon of butter in each corner.
    4. Make a well in the center of the dry ingredients and add yeast.
    5. Place pan in bread machine and select dough setting.
    6. When dough is ready, roll out into a 15 x 10 rectangle.
    7. Spread the softened butter over the dough then sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon and nutmeg if desired.
    8. Tightly roll the dough along each long side towards the middle.
    9. Use a knife and cut roll into 1 inch pieces.
    10. Unroll each piece and little to allow room to pinch at the bottom to make the heart shape.
    11. Bake at 375 degrees for 20 minutes or until golden brown.
    12. In a small bowl combine vanilla, powdered sugar, and milk.  Drizzle over warm cinnamon rolls.  Top with sprinkles if desired.
