Looking for something a little different tonight that the whole family will LOVE? Then you need to check out this Korean Beef with Fried Rice. It seriously tastes AMAZING – all 4 of my picky eaters ate this up no problem!

The key to this recipe is to cook the beef separately from the rice, and then combine later. The beef is simple enough. For the rice – make sure that it is cooked ahead of time. Better yet, leftover rice works PERFECT for this recipe. It took me forever to make good stir fry rice, but this process works great every time:

    1. Cook finely chopped onions and any other vegetables in sesame oil with a little bit of salt.
    2. Once soft, move to one side and add an egg.
    3. Scramble in the pan, then mix with the vegetables.
    4. Add rice and a bit of soy sauce.
    5. Add meat.

So while the recipe looks like many steps, it’s actually pretty easy. The picture above has green beans, but the recipe has broccoli – it really doesn’t make a difference.

    • Heat a large skillet over medium heat and brown the hamburger along with the garlic in 1 Tbsp of the sesame oil.
    • Drain the fat and add everything else except the green onions.
    • Simmer for a few minutes.
    • In a separate pan, heat 1 Tbsp of the sesame oil over medium heat.
    • Once hot, add the onions (both green and regular) and cook for 5-10 minutes until soft.
    • Move the onions to one side of the pan and crack the egg into the pan.
    • Scramble the egg in to pan, and mix in with the vegetables.
    • Add the rice, broccoli and 1 Tbsp soy sauce and mix in with the vegetables.
    • Add the beef and mix in the pan.
